The AFRL outsources about 75% of its annual $4 billion budget to industry, universities and global allies. Find out how to keep more of that in the Dayton Region by learning how to work with the AFRL.

The Dayton Region Manufacturers Association (DRMA) and the Dayton Area Defense Contractors Association (DaytonDefense) invite you to a breakfast event on Thursday, June 8. The event will bring together Base leaders, defense contractors, and DRMA members to explore increased collaboration on opportunities where non-traditional approaches and new sources are required.

The U.S. Air Force is retooling their approach for small, low cost, almost disposable aircraft in an initiative called LCAAT (Low Cost Attritable Aircraft Technologies). This approach will change everything for the U.S. Air Force supply chain. Senior representatives of the Air Force Research Labs and Air Force Life Cycle Management Center will be in attendance and are actively supporting this collaboration.

More can and should be done to leverage our regional manufacturing capability to help solve the problems being addressed right here at the home of Air Force research, development and acquisition. This event is to show the WPAFB leaders and defense contractors the breadth of manufacturing capability in the Dayton Region and to inform DRMA members about the type of manufacturing work that could come out of the Base and what they need to do to be qualified to get into the supply chain.

By better exposing the needs of the Air Force and defense contractors to the Dayton Region’s manufacturing community, we can revolutionize the pace of innovation, establish a new cost curve, radically increase the speed at which new capability is fielded to our Nation’s warfighters, and develop a Dayton Region-based manufacturing supply chain that provides new growth opportunities for local manufacturers.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet each other and share information about needs and capabilities.
