Posted By Angelia Erbaugh, DRMA President, Tuesday, April 7, 2020

The teacher of the Robotics & Automation program at Miami Valley Career Technology Center told me he has 4 high school seniors ready to work in manufacturing.

These students are nearing completion of the two-year Robotics and Automation Program at MVCTC.  Here’s a summary of skills/certifications/attributes these seniors have:

  • Motoman/Yaskawa national certification for robot programming

  • FANUC national certification for robot programing

  • Nearing completion of CSWA SolidWorks national certification

  • 2/3 of the way through the Allen/Bradley PLC national certification

  • Basic safety skills

  • Can read mics and calipers

  • Some can write CNC G-Code programs

  • Currently learning FeatureCAM CNC programming software for 3 axis mills and 2 axis lathes

  • Are quick learners

Email me if you want their contact info.

Both OMA and NAM are sending me daily updates on information and developments specifically affecting manufacturers. If you would like to receive these updates, forwarded by DRMA staff, please reply to “opt in.”

Member Congrats: To Noble Tool Corp. for their feature in DBJ's story about helping local hospitals keep stocked with critical equipment. To Cornerstone Research Group for winning a $7M hypersonics contract. To Monaghan Tooling Group for supplying local and non-local manufacturers with metal finishing tooling used for machining ventilator parts.

Editor’s Note: DRMA members are always doing amazing things! If you know of a member company or an employee of a member company who deserves a shout-out, email it to info@daytonrma.org.]
