The teacher of the Robotics & Automation program at Miami Valley Career Technology Center told me he has 4 high school seniors ready to work in manufacturing.
These students are nearing completion of the two-year Robotics and Automation Program at MVCTC. Here’s a summary of skills/certifications/attributes these seniors have:
Motoman/Yaskawa national certification for robot programming
FANUC national certification for robot programing
Nearing completion of CSWA SolidWorks national certification
2/3 of the way through the Allen/Bradley PLC national certification
Basic safety skills
Can read mics and calipers
Some can write CNC G-Code programs
Currently learning FeatureCAM CNC programming software for 3 axis mills and 2 axis lathes
Are quick learners
